This rug is a combination of two types of weaving, falsa and rolling waves.  The rug was handwoven in Mexico.  The village of Teotitlan Del Valle in  the Mexican state of Oaxaca is very well known for its hand weaving.  Handwoven Zapotec rugs are exquisite textiles crafted by the Zapotec people of Oaxaca, Mexico. These rugs are known for their vibrant colors, intricate geometric patterns, and use of natural dyes derived from plants, insects, and minerals.
